THE WESTERN STAR, 4 March 1904
On Thursday, February 24, 1904, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Cumpton, of Valley tp., aged 4 months and 13 days.

The child had been sick for a week or more with severe attack of pneumonia fever. Everything possible in the way of medical skill and of careful nursing could not effect a cure, and at 11 a.m. on Thursday of last week the death summons came. The funeral services were held in this city on Saturday and were in charge of Rev. J. C. Fisher, of the M. E. church, after which interment was made in the Coldwater cemetery. The grief stricken family have the sincere sympathy of all in their hour of
sad bereavement.
