Seeking information on the deaths of my GGGgrandmother, Sophronia Jane
GASKILL( b. May 1838,OH), who m. 1: Dyer Burgess Eastman, with whom she had two
daughters, Elizabeth "Lydia" and Martha E. Eastman. Dyer Eastman killed at
battle of Shilo in Tennessee, then Sophronia m.2: James A. Tift. James Tift died
about 1890 in Woodward County, OK. By 1900, Sophronia is living in Stafford,
Stafford, KS with her mother, Eleanor "Ellen" (KEIL) GASKILL (b. abt.1815, VA),
widow of Noah GASKILL. Neither Sophronia or Eleanor show up on the 1910 Census.
The dates of death and and place of burial for these two ladies have eluded us
for years. If someone at the library can locate the records, places of burial
and/or obituaries, I would be happy to pay for your time, etc.
